The accused were said to have had carnal knowledge of their neighbour’s four-year-old daughter.

The police, however, did not disclose the identities of the accused persons because of their ages, said to be between 10 and 15.
The police said that the suspects’ arrest followed a petition to the Commissioner of Police (CP) by a group, Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation, alleging rape and defilement against them.
In the petition, the foundation said that the brothers lured the victim into their parents’ apartment where they took turns having sexual intercourse with her.
The prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, pleaded with the court to refer the case file to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice in the interest of the minor.
The Magistrate, P. E. Nwaka, ordered their remand at the children’s remand home and directed the prosecutor to duplicate their file and send it to the DPP for advice before adjourning.
