The chairman of Kwali Area Council, Danladi Chiya, has appointed Adamu Yakubu Mohammed, as the new district head of Wako chiefdom in the area.
Chiya, who made the announcement in a statement he signed and issued to journalists on Thursday, said the appointment of the new district head followed the death of the late district head of Wako, Malam Salihu Usman, on June 14, 2022, after a brief illness.

He said part of the duties of the newly appointed district head included maintaining peace and order in his domain and holding meetings with his village heads in order to foster speedy development, peace and unity among his subjects.
The chairman, while congratulating the new district head, urged him to ensure he reported matters that were beyond his control to the Etsu of Wako Chiefdom, His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Abdulazeez D. Usman.
He said the new district would also perform any other functions given to him from time to time by relevant authorities.
“And you are also to note that failure to comply with these functions and other unethical conduct will lead to your removal from office by the relevant authority,” the statement said.
City & Crime learnt that the new district head was the special adviser to the council chairman on education during the chairman’s first tenure.
