The chairman of Nafada Local Government Council in Gombe State, Alhaji Musa Abubakar (Babawuro), has died in a car accident on his way to Kano State.
The deceased died in the auto crash yesterday along the Kano highway, the Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said in a statement.

According to Misilli, his driver and orderly sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Babawuro was elected chairman of Nafada LGA alongside 10 others during the local government council elections held in December 2020. His remains were laid the rest at the Gombe Central Burial Ground, along Bajoga road, after a funeral prayer held at the courtyard of Modibbo Bubayero Mosque, Emir’s Palace, Gombe.
In a condolence message, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said the death of the LGC chairman was deeply painful and a huge loss, “not only to his immediate family but the entire state and the nation.”
He described him as a man of peace, committed politician and experienced public servant who contributed immensely to the development of his immediate community, local government and the state.
Governor Yahaya extended the condolences of the government and people of the state to the deceased’s immediate family, staff and council members of Nafada LGA, as well as the entire good people of Nafada over the sad event.
