Detectives from the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Tuesday, arrested two drug traffickers on a route used to move illicit substances in the South West.
The acting Controller of FOU Zone A, Hussein Kehinde Ejibunu, said 3,851kg of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp was recovered from the suspects who he identified as Ebuka Mbamalu and Iruka Chita.

Ejibunu, who revealed that the suspects were nabbed on the Ogere-Ilaro Expressway, said they had been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
He said, “We are completely resolute to ensure continuous synergy with NDLEA. I assure you that the synergy will be completely resounded.”
The Lagos Deputy Commander, Operations and Intelligence of NDLEA, Mr Augustine Yusuf, appreciated the customs, saying the synergy between the two agencies would stop illegal cross-border trade.
