Six hundred and sixteen members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dukku LGA of Gombe State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A chieftain of the PDP in Dukku, Alhaji Kwairanga Dukku, led the 616 PDP card-carrying members, including women and youths, from 10 wards of the LGA to the APC secretariat at the weekend.

He said their decision to join APC was informed by the purposeful leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
He commended the governor for his policies towards improving the well-being of the people.
The Secretary of APC in the state, Abubakar Umar Goro, said the large number of people being received into the party showed that there was no hope for any opposition party in the state come 2023.
