Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has released a total of N19.4 million for the payment of scholarships to 59 law students who are indigenes of the state across three law schools in the country.
Executive Secretary Borno Scholarship Board, Isa Bala, in a chat with Daily Trust in Maiduguri yesterday said the intervention was done to support and encourage more Borno citizens to study law.

He disclosed that scholarship was part of the government’s social welfare and cooperative responsibility to the Borno indigenes.
He added that the award was offered to assist young students in institutions of learning, especially for those who have limited resources to sponsor the pursuit of their academics
“Prof. Babagana zulum is passionate about education, so this current administration has assisted thousands of students who have limited resources.
“We have selected 59 of them across all the 27 local government areas of the state. We believe this will assist the students to concentrate on their studies without thinking about the logistics,” he said.
Bala charged the students to work hard to justify the assistance given to them while calling on them to be good ambassadors of the state.
