Police in Adamawa State have apprehended 38 suspected kidnappers, informants and rapists in a sting operation across the state.
Parading the suspects before journalists, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Sikiru Kayode Akande, said the arrest was as the result of heightened effort by the police to check criminal activities.
He said the command was on the trail of four kidnap king pins terrorising several communities in the state, adding that the command would not relent in its duty to protect the citizens.
It was learnt that items recovered from the suspects include an AK-47, a pistol, and a laptop computer.
Akande solicited support from community leaders and the general public in the effort to rid the society of criminal elements and called on residents to always report strange people and movement at the nearest security post.
Meanwhile, the commissioner decorated 11 police officers who were promoted to the rank of Superintendent as a reward for diligent service.
