Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has said his administration is set to construct 1,000 affordable housing units for low-income earners in the state.
The governor made the disclosure during a meeting with the Managing Director of the Family Homes Fund (FHF), Mr Femi Adewole, in Abuja.

A statement issued yesterday by the Director-General Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, revealed that the affordable housing scheme would comprise different categories of houses that could be easily obtained by the low-income earners.
“The housing project will comprise one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom houses, respectively,” Misilli quoted the governor as saying.
Earlier, Mr Adewole said the state government has met all necessary requirements for the implementation of the scheme, adding that it would soon release the needed funds to facilitate the commencement of the project.
He announced that the agency, in conjunction with Governor Yahaya, will agree on a date for the ground-breaking ceremony, which will signal the commencement of the construction of the housing units.
