Two herders identified as Umar and Ali have stolen 13 cows they were employed to look after at Owode-Egba in Obafemi Owode LGA of Ogun State.
Abdulazeez Adebayo, Manager of Noble Hurst Global Farm Limited, Owode-Egba, reported the case to the Amotekun Corps and said that the 13 cows were worth N10.4m.

The Commandant of the Ogun State Amotekun Corps, David Akinremi, told newsmen that in the course of preliminary enquiry and based on credible intelligence, the vehicle which the stolen cows were conveyed in was traced and the driver apprehended.
He further said the driver’s arrest led the Amotekun operatives to a suspect “who conspired with the two absconded herders to steal the cows, and subsequently the buyer at Ogijo abattoir.”
He said the buyer did not only admit receiving the cows, but also confessed selling some to other buyers who were presently at large.
The commandant added that, “Other arrested suspects, on interrogation, admitted the roles they played in the commission of the crime.”
He listed all those arrested in connection with the rustling as Jimoh Hammed (25), Ganiyu Mukaila (47), Ayuba Kazeem (34), Oyewole Dauda (46) and Ipadeola Afeez (34).
