2023: Say no to religious bigotry

As the general elections are around the corner, there is a need to canvass and re-orientate Nigerians that our major problem is not religion; it is understanding.  We must understand our differences and desist from playing the religious card when politicking.

Religion is being negatively employed as a divisive and rancorous factor when it should be a uniting one.

Religion is a spiritual affair between you and your Creator. What we need is who can come and deliver us from our teeming problems, not the problem of who is a Christian and who is a Muslim.

We have several states that have Muslim-Christian as governor-deputy, some Christian-Christian, some have performed, some have not, so we call on Nigerians to sensitise people especially the youths who are being used to destabilise the country.

If you are flying a plane to Maiduguri, you don’t ask whether the pilot is a Christian or Muslim, all you need is a qualified pilot.

As for those saying Tinubu and Atiku are the same, even twins are different. Bola Tinubu has a Christian as a wife.

The time has come for all Nigerians to rise to the urgent imperative to detoxify the religious content being wrongfully built into our politics by ignoring efforts to interpret apparent political issues along religious lines.
