NNL mandates clubs to pay referees indemnities

The Nigeria National League (NNL) management has asked clubs to pay the indemnities of match officials for the remaining games of the 2021/22 league season.

This was contained in a circular signed by the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Emmanuel Adesanya and dated July 22, 2022 and sent to the secretaries of state football associations and the presidents of NNL clubs in the country.

According to the circular, clubs with two home games will pay N900,000 while those with one home game will pay N225,000 which must be paid on or before Wednesday 27th July, 2022.

“Furtherance to your letter on the joint decision of Nigeria National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA) for clubs to pay the indemnities of match officials for the remaining matches in the 2021/2022 league season which was conveyed to the Nigeria National League secretariat via your letter dated 21st July 2022.

“I have the instruction to request all clubs to as a matter of urgency pay the agreed two hundred and twenty-five thousand naira (N225,000) per a home match for your remaining home matches.

“This implies that clubs that has two home matches to conclude their season are to pay N450,000 each while clubs that has one home match to end the season are pay N225,000 respectively.

“The Nigeria National League Management kindly request that all payments in this regard must be made on or before Wednesday 27th July, 2022. This is to enable the NNL secretariat to come up with a date to rearrange the remaining league fixtures,” the memo said.
