Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has distributed palliatives to victims of banditry in Safana Local Government Area of the state.
The items, worth over N21million including foodstuff, mats and soaps among others, were given to families in five communities in the LGA, namely, Zakkah, Sabon Garin Gamji, Kunamawa, Kukar Rabo and Tsaskiya.

About two weeks ago, bandits went on the rampage in Safana Local Government, killing several people including the Area Commander of Police in charge of Dutsinma Area Command, ACP Aminu Umar.
During the distribution, Governor Masari, represented by the Safana Council Chairman, Muhammad Kabir Umar, sympathised with the families affected by the unfortunate attacks and prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims.
The governor charged the beneficiaries to utilise the palliatives and pray fervently for the return and peace and security in the state and the entire nation.
The beneficiaries include families of the deceased and of those kidnapped by bandits, those that sustained injuries as a result of the attacks, as well as those whose cattle were rustled.
Other beneficiaries were those that lost their lives and nine persons that were receiving medication at the Federal Medical Centre as a result of the recent bomb mistakenly dropped by the fighter jet of the Nigerian Air Force in Kunkunna Village.
