The Edo State acting governor, Philip Shaibu, says the authorities will from August 1, begin a clampdown on all unregistered vehicles across the state.
Shaibu, who stated this at the weekend while constituting a task force to enforce the clampdown, said the action became necessary as criminals used unregistered vehicles to perpetrate crimes in the state.

He advised owners and operators of unregistered vehicles in the state to register them on or before July 31 to avoid prosecution.
