The much-anticipated 2022 Bauchi Polo Tournament has been confirmed to gallop off in grand style next weekend at the legendary Col. Danjuma Polo Ground nestling off Kano Road in the state of Yankari Games Reserve.
Kano Polo Vice President, Aliyu Sambo who disclosed this to Polo Royals on phone, started preparations to host the prestigious Bauchi annual polo festival are in full swing, as invitations have already been sent out to all polo clubs across the country.

Sambo who is also the Umpire Marshall of the Nigerian Polo confirmed to start from July25 and thrills till July 30, 2022.
“Bauchi is set to host our glamorous polo fiesta which remains one of the biggest sporting events on a yearly basis and one of the most attended polo tournaments in the country,” he pointed out.
Bauchi Polo Captain Bello Sam-Pam stated that over twenty ambitious teams comprising old rivals and debutants from Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Yola, Bauchi, Jos, Zaria, Keffi, Argungu and host Bauchi, are all battle ready to jostle for top honours during the weeklong polo extravaganza.
Four major trophies and a dozen of selected prizes would be at stake during the six-day event. These include the Governor’s Cup which is the event’s biggest reward. Others include the Emir of Bauchi Cup, Emir of Katagum Cup, Sarki Fulani Cup, Beginners Cup and the Veterans Cup.
