The police in Oyo State have arrested four persons over robbery and murder of one of their victims at Oba-Ido community, Ologuneru area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adebowale Williams, who paraded the suspects: Oyebamiji Moses, Afeez Akinpelu, Segun Joseph and Dauda Adekunle, said the robbers stormed the community with sophisticated firearms, cutlasses and other burglary instruments, attacked some members of the community and dispossessed them of huge sums of money, cell phones.

The CP said the robbers opened fire on some of their victims after they had dispossessed them of valuable items and that in the process one Felix Nwaebili shot dead.
According to him, as soon as the incident was reported at the monitoring unit, a team of operatives launched an investigation into the incident and that two kingpins of the criminal syndicate were arrested in their respective hideouts within Ibadan metropolis.
The police boss further said the suspects made confessional statements to the crime and series of similar criminal activities they had masterminded in different parts of Ibadan, noting that the confessional statements and further discreet investigation led to the arrest of the syndicate’s armourer and one other.
He added that effort was on to hunt down other members of the criminal gang and recover the guns used for their operations.
