Following a shakeup of the board of Kaduna Electric after its takeover announcement by Fidelity Bank on Wednesday, the newly announced Board of Directors held its first inaugural meeting Friday.
According to a statement by the DisCo’s spokesman, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, the meeting was held at the headquarters in Kaduna and chaired by the new Board Chairman, Alhaji Abbas Jega.

Other members at the meeting were Alhaji Ameenu Abubakar and Mr Ignatius Ayewoh of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE); Alhaji Umar Abdullahi, an Independent Director attended virtually while a member, Marlene Ngoyi did not attend.
The management team at the meeting was led by the Head of Operations, Engr. Aliyu Abbas, who represented the Managing Director, Engr. Yusuf Usman Yahaya.
The board chairman said its mandate is to chart a new course that will lead the company back on the path to sustainable growth.
Jega urged the management and the staff to increase their efforts to work to revive the fortunes of the company just as he assured them of their job security except for defaulters.
