A gas explosion in a retail shop in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has left one person injured and destroyed property worth N5 million.
The fire that followed the explosion, it was learnt, affected three other shops and destroyed goods, money and property.

The wife of the owner of the retail gas shop sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
A victim of the explosion who sells children’s wares in one of the shops, Mrs Bashirat Bashar, said she lost goods worth over N2.5m.
She said, “I just filled my shop with goods worth over N2.5m on Monday in preparation for Sallah sales. All the goods were burnt by the fire.”
It was gathered that over N2m cash belonging to the owner of the venture was burnt during the incident.
