The House of Representatives said it would again reject the controversial water resources bill if the new one presently before the parliament had obnoxious provisions.
The spokesman of the House and chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Benjamin Kalu, said this while addressing journalists in Abuja.
The water resources bill, which failed to sail through in the 7th and 8th, as well as the current 9th Assembly, was reintroduced this week, but it sparked negative reactions from some lawmakers.
Kalu told journalists that there must be something that made the governor’s forum to ask their representatives not to support the bill earlier.
“If that has been cured and the title remains the same, the bill might pass, but if it is a replica of what was presented and rejected, I am sure that what happened before would happen again,” he said.
