The Daily Trust newspaper, a subsidiary of Media Trust Limited, is set to wear a new look today as its erstwhile logo gives way to a new one that reflects its digital presence in the cyberspace.
Daily Trust, one of the leading newspapers in Nigeria, has, over the years, made a sturdy foothold on the internet with millions of Nigerian and international readers relying on its digital platform to source credible information on the happenings in Nigerian and beyond its shores.

Speaking on the rebranding, the acting Chief Executive Officer of Media Trust, Malam Nura Daura, stated: “Times have passed and we did so many things to bring delight to our readers. However, technological advancement has brought about tremendous changes in the way and manner media delivers content to its audience.
“The new logo, which is a marriage of a revolving globe in a mobile, signifies the unlimited reach of our content on the digital space.”
On her part, Media Trust’s General Manager, Human Resources & Management Services and chairman of the rebranding committee, Hadiza I. Bala, said the new development would enable the company to continue to remain with its readers as always while strictly adhering to and committed to the founding philosophy which is based on trust, integrity, openness and courage.
She explained that the new logo was adopted to indicate the modern trends of the company as it engages more audiences and readers across all its platforms; a feat, she said was possible through the disruption of the media landscape across the world by modern technology.
“The new log has two components which are the icon of a laptop or tablet and the icon of the globe. This shows the reach of our contents across the world and how the little devices we use daily have been an enabler in keeping our audiences instantly updated on what is going on inside the globe,” she said.
The Editor-in-Chief of Daily Trust, Malam Naziru Mika’ilu, noted that as Media Trust continues to reposition itself to serve its audience much better, the company is rebranding its logo and visual identity to “reflect our current vision and futuristic drive.”
Executive Director, Business and Strategy, Media Trust, Malam Ahmed Shekarau, said: “We have spread our tentacles beyond the pages of the newspaper to the digital space, the new logos and digital identities reflect the new scope of our multimedia reach.”
