The Kano State government under the state’s Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) has revealed its preparation towards this year’s wet-season activities.
The project has already distributed inputs for the operation of the demonstration plots across the 44 local government areas of the state.

This was disclosed by Sasakawa KSADP SAA and KSADP project coordinator, Abdulrasheed Hamisu Kofar Mata, during a mega green field day held at Larabar Gadon Sarki of Warawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to him, the project has made provision for 226 demonstration plots for rice, 226 for maize, 146 for Sorghum and 97 for millet, making a total of 696 demonstration plots across the 44 local government areas of Kano State as well as the provision of 2019 hectares of nurseries for seedlings.
He further explained that the project which was funded through a loan facility from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and a grant component from Live and Livelihood Funds (LLF) had established and operated 228 demonstration plots in 19 local government areas during the dry-season in the state.
In his address, SAA Deputy Country Director, Dr Abdulhamid Gambo, said agriculture was currently facing lots of challenges that need a change in the manner and way farmers operate.
