Club owners suspend Kano Pillars boss, Yahaya Surajo, indefinitely

The Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria has suspended the Chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Yahaya Surajo, indefinitely, over his behaviour during the rescheduled NPFL Match Day 31 between Kano Pillars FC vs Dakkada FC in Kano Thursday.

In a viral video, Surajo was seen to have physically assaulted an assistant referee in the match, a conduct the association described as unfortunate, unacceptable and a bad representation of what it stands for.

“The club owners have therefore placed the chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Malam Yahaya Surajo, on indefinite suspension from all activities of the association forthwith pending the outcome of a detailed investigation into the unfortunate incident,” Alloy Chukwuemeka, the Executive Secretary of the association, said in a statement.

Club owners comprise astute football administrators who have distinguished themselves in several fields of human endeavours with the expected high level of discipline in the management of their various clubs.

The association frowned at Surajo’s behaviour which came less than 48 hours after a joint meeting of the LMC and club owners executive had warned against acts capable of causing negative image to the league.

The chairman of the association, Barr. Isaac Danladi, said the Kano Pillars boss would face a disciplinary committee to defend his action before he could be readmitted into the association.
