Chief Imam of Kaduna’s Maiduguri Mosque dies at 52

The Chief Imam of Maiduguri Road Juma’at Mosque in Kaduna, Malam Dahiru Lawal Abubakar, has died at the age of 52.

Daily Trust gathered that the Chief Imam, who was until his death, an Upper Sharia Court Judge in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state, died after a brief illness.

He was being treated at the 44 Army Reference Hospital before he died in the early hours of Wednesday.

Abubakar was one of the sons of late renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Lawal Abubakar, and an elder brother to a former editor of Daily Trust newspaper, Malam Nasiru Lawal Abubakar.
