Portable had last week welcomed a child with his lover, Feranmi, and the naming ceremony of the child was scheduled for Tuesday.
The singer was said to have sent his driver on an errand in a Range Rover jeep when the accident occurred.
The police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the accident.
“The accident occurred at Ilogbo area in Ogun state where one of Portable’s aides hit a motorcyclist and the man did not survive as he died on his way to the hospital.
“We are not sure if the driver in question was drunk or not,” he said
The accident occurred less than 24 hours after the singer was asked by the police to report himself at the nearest police post or be arrested for alleged assault.
This followed a case of alleged assault of his former Disc Jockey simply identified as DJ Chicken.
In a viral clip, Portable, who spoke in Yoruba, ordered a group of “boys” to beat up the DJ for allegedly sending a message to his wife.
