The Kaduna State Fire Service said it recorded five deaths and several injuries in 34 fire outbreaks across the state in May.
The Director of the service, Mr Paul Aboi, revealed this in an interview with NAN on Monday.

He said four persons were rescued while property worth N137m were saved from the incidents.
Aboi explained that the fire incidents occurred in Kaduna metropolis, as well as in Zaria and Kafanchan LGAs.
Aboi blamed the incidents on negligence and improper installation of appliances, stressing that residents should be careful when handling electrical appliances.
He disclosed that the fire service would be decentralised to the 23 local government areas of the state “to reduce response time to five minutes in case of emergencies. (NAN)
