Power ministry honours 40 exceptional civil servants

The Federal Ministry of Power has presented awards to 40 civil servants selected for outstanding performances. 

The awardees included 10 officials at the directorate level, 19 middle level officials and 11 lower cadre officials. 

Speaking at the commencement of the 2022 Civil Service Week, the Minister of Power, Abubakar D. Aliyu, an engineer, represented by the permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Power, Nebeolisa Anako, said, “The awards here are for those that have been sieved out based on criteria. It is not that those not selected are not working.

“What a great privilege for you to be nominated among the multitude of staff in the ministry. We are all very happy for those that were selected for these awards.” 

The ministry scribe said the week-long programme, which had the theme: “Performance Management System and its Impact on Productive in the Nigerian Civil Service,” had three award categories, comprising the Presidential Distinguished Public Service Award; Presidential Merit Award and the Head of Service Commendation Letter for top level civil servants, middle level and the junior cadre. 

The director of General Services, Head of Service of the Federation, Bala Mohammed, said the Service introduced the award scheme in 2019 to promote dedication to work.
