One person was reportedly killed and another sustained gunshot injury in the Tafoki ward of Faskari Local Government while six persons were abducted in Shola community in Katsina Local Government Area, in Katsina State.
Sources from Tafoki said the bandits in their numbers attacked Unguwar Sarkin Fulani, a neighbouring community, with the intention of rustling cattle belonging to resident herders but when they didn’t meet their target they conducted house to house search, killing one person simply identified as Abdullahi.

A resident of the community said, “Unguwar Sarkin Fulani is a polling unit under Tafoki ward and when the attackers learned that their targets have migrated to another location, they said they would not suffer for nothing, hence they started house to house search and in the process carted away several cows and farming implement.
“Abdullahi was shot in his chest when they saw him coming out of his room and he died on the spot while one other person was shot in his thigh but he has been taken to the hospital for treatment.”
In a separate incident, bandits also attacked the Shola community in Katsina Local Government Area of Katsina State, abducting six persons in the process.
A resident of the community who craved for anonymity said the community was invaded by the terrorists riding on motorcycles in the early hours of Tuesday.
Locals said that the terrorists also moved from house to house, where they abducted four men, one married woman, and her two-year-old baby girl.
Confirming the Shola incident, the Police spokesman in Katsina, SP Gambo Isah, said the terrorists who were 12 in number on motorbikes, armed with AK 47, invaded Shola Quarters, at the outskirt of Katsina city and abducted six (6) members of the community to an unknown destination.
Isah said, “The Commissioner of Police, KTS police command, has deployed an anti-kidnapping unit in addition to other operational asset of the command to the area. He gave them a marching order and restated that the command will not rest on its oars until the victims are rescued alive and unhurt.”
He gave the names of those abducted as Tanimu Adamu, Abdullahi Isiya, Isiya Rabiu, Ibrahim Adamu, Mannir Jayi while the woman’s name was not disclosed.
Isah added the the fifth person, Mannir Jayi, had escaped from the abductors and was helping the police in their investigations.
