The combined team of the Police Operation Puff Adder and that of the Nigerian Army Operation Thunder Strike foiled a kidnap attempt by bandits and killed one of them along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway on Sunday.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Muhammed Jalige, said in a statement issued that the bandits were intercepted at the area where an exchange of gunfire ensued.

As a result, the forces succeeded, which led the gunmen to retreat into the forest while one bandit was neutralised.
Jalige said, “Upon the search of the general area, an AK47 rifle and nine (9) bandits’ operational motorcycles were recovered while the high spirited operatives are not resting on their oars in ensuring the safety of motorists and other legitimate road users.”
The statement said the Commissioner of Police, Yekini Ayoku, was highly elated with the commitment and gallantry exhibited by the combined team and assured them that their sacrifices towards ensuring public safety will not go unrewarded.
