Vandalised A/Ibom school renovated, gets 545 desks

The vandalised Government Primary School, Aka Offot on Obio Imo Street in Uyo LGA of Akwa Ibom State has been renovated and equipped with 545 desks.

City & Crime had reported that one of the vandals, while trying to steal from the school, suffocated inside a ceiling.

Speaking on Thursday in Uyo, Headmistress of the school, Mrs Ubo, said following the report of the dilapidated nature of the school, the state government renovated the school and sent them 500 desks and that two other donors from the United States of America (USA) also sent in 20 and 25 desks each, books, pencils, biros and school bags to share to the pupils.

She said, “We have seen the change. The school wasn’t like this when I came. All the pupils were sitting on the floor. Through your effort (Daily Trust) and others, God has changed our story. We commend government for the quick intervention.
