The symposium organised by the Arewa House Center for Research and Historical Documentation is expected to find lasting and workable solutions to the continuous spate of insecurity bedevilling the country.
Briefing journalists ahead of the symposium, Director, Arewa House, Dr Shuaibu Shehu Aliyu, said the centre decided to organise the symposium to bring critical stakeholders together and talk about the insecurity challenges facing the Northern region and the country at large.
He said the symposium with the theme, ‘Politics and Insecurity in Nigeria: Way Forward’, will have in attendance members of the academia, personnel from the Department of State Security (DSS), Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan, among other discussants who will give their perspectives on the topic.
“We invited the former Chief of Army staff to come and talk to us particularly on the topic thereby departing from our norms of lecture to thorough and articulate outcomes that can come up from the lecture and discussion.
“This we hope, will help us in mapping out the way forward to the insecurity challenges.
