The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has alerted Nigerians to be prepared for extreme heat for the next three days in some parts of the country.
The agency in its high-temperature outlook signed by the Director-General, Prof. Mansur Matazu said most parts of the Northern cities are expected to record temperatures between 35°C to 40°C.

However, it said parts of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, and Borno are expected to experience temperatures greater than 40°C.
The forecast also stated that parts of Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Dutse, Nguru, and Maiduguri indicate chances of experiencing high thermal discomfort starting from Sunday.
On 31st May 2022, it said parts of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, and Borno are expected to experience temperatures greater than 40°C.
It added that parts of Niger, Plateau, FCT, Kwara, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba, and Adamawa are expected to record temperatures between 35°C to 40°C.
