Workers get N40,000 minimum wage

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has paid workers N40, 000 minimum wage in May in fulfillment of the new minimum wage he announced during the 2022 Workers Day celebration.  

The Secretary to the State Government’s statement signed by Osarodion Ogie, said “Godwin Obaseki has approved the payment of retirees’ pension and workers’ salaries for the month of May, reflecting the new N40, 000 minimum wage.”

Obaseki had on Workers Day announced the increment of the minimum wage in the state from N30,000 to N40,000.
