Natives of Abuja have warned that it will amount to fraud if the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Bello, organises a Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting for the outgoing chairmen and other stakeholders.

The natives vowed to shut down the FCTA secretariat if the minister goes ahead to organize such JAAC meeting today for the outgoing council chairmen.
Comrade Yunusa Ahmadul Yusuf, Chief Advocate of Abuja Grassroots Advocacy Project (AGAP), who made this known at a press conference yesterday, said that from his interaction with some natives of Abuja, they have vowed to take to the street if the minister organises such meeting.
Yusuf, who said he was concerned about the peace and unity of the FCT, appealed to the minister to resist the temptation of calling for such meeting to distribute taxpayers’ money to the outgoing chairmen and other stakeholders when the issue concerning the suspended swearing-in of the new chairmen and their councilors have not been resolved.
“I have been speaking to my people to be calm because what we want in FCT is peace, but they have been warning that there should not be any JAAC meeting for money to be shared among the outgoing chairmen and other stakeholders.
“The outgoing chairmen lack the moral right to collect people’s taxes from May 19 when their tenure expired because they were sworn- in on a three-year mandate,’’ he said.
