Work hard for APC to retain Lagos, GAC tells party members

The Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the apex leadership body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, has urged the party members to work hard for the ruling party to win the governorship election in the state.

GAC leader, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, spoke yesterday at the Lagos APC stakeholders’ meeting.

He also advised party members to ensure that only people with integrity are elected as delegates and candidates during congresses and primaries.

The Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, said the congresses and primaries of the party should not be seen as a “do or die affair”.

He also implored party members to use internal mechanisms to resolve any conflict.

“No local government chairman or party chairman at the council level has a right to write a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for redress on any issue without first exploring the internal conflict resolution of the party,” he warned.

Also, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State appealed to leaders and members of the party to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and abide by the party’s principles.

Meanwhile, Nollywood stars, local government chairmen and thousands of Lagos residents staged a rally yesterday for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential aspiration.

The Chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garage Management Committee, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), Fuji music maestro and Mayegun of Yorubaland Alhaji Wasiu Anifowoshe, Chairman, Conference of 57 Local Governments and Local Councils Development Areas, Kolade Alabi, Conference 57 Secretary-General Rasaq Ajala and Nollywood stars and over 100,000 Lagosians attended the rally, which also campaigned for the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
