A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Operations, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, on Monday, declared intention to contest in the Oyo State governorship election during the 2023 general elections.
Adelabu, who was the flag bearer of the party in the 2019 general elections, while declaring, scored the incumbent Governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, low in governance.

According to him, security of lives and property, mechanised farming and poverty alleviation, industrialisation and employment creation, health, education, good governance and innovative ideas would drive his government if elected.
He said there was an urgent need to unleash resources of Oyo State to massively boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and lift the people out of poverty into prosperity.
Adedibu further said it was paradoxical that the engineer in control of the state was powering street lights with generators instead solar lights that were the order of modern century.
