Sources from Mariri had told our correspondent that as part of her Barkindo-Rahama Initiative, the engineer often distributes household items to the less privileged, the latest were cloths and other basic items to orphans ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Our correspondent, who visited the family home in Kaduna, gathered that the engineer and her daughter are still being held by their captives though negotiations are on.
A source within the family who pleaded anonymity said the family is not willing to comment on the issue because the various stories reported on social media on the incident almost jeopardized the lives of their loved ones.
Daily Trust Saturday recalls that the bandits had demanded N100 million ransom for their release.
