12 smugglers arrested with 55,800 litres of petrol

Men of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have arrested a total of 12 smugglers from their different hideouts in Lagos and Ogun states.

The Acting Controller of FOU Zone A, Hussein Kehinde Ejibunu, at a press conference held at the unit’s headquarters in Ikeja yesterday, said some of the suspects were suspected to be behind the smuggling of some of seizures made in April, 2022.

He said, “Items seized from the twelve suspects include 55,800 litres of petrol, 73 bales of used clothes, 82 units of used fridges, 104 compressors, 143 bales of new textile, 1,264 pieces of used tyres, 156 cartons of frozen poultry and 7,960 pairs of new shoes

“Others are 240 pieces of ladies purses, 93 cartons of tin tomato, two units of used vehicles and 11 pieces of used rugs.”
