Olugbemi said revamping the educational system in Nigeria is a collective responsibility of all and sundry, irrespective of gender or race.

“This edifice that is being commissioned today will be known and called ‘The CIBN Bankers Hall.’ It will serve as the melting pot for the training and development of future bankers.

“The facility is a 160-seater lecture theatre, fully furnished and equipped with ultra-modern facilities.

“I have no doubt that this structure will serve as an important tool in the delivery of high-quality education to future bankers,” he said.

The chairman called on Nigerians to join hands with government to revamp the educational system to set a brighter future for the generations to come.

He said the institute is mindful of the fact that government alone might not be able to provide all the funding required to provide quality education especially at tertiary level.

Dr Olugbemi urged the students to use the hall responsibly, so it can serve successive generations.

In a remark, Prof. Mohammad Abdulaziz, the Vice Chancellor, ATBU Bauchi, expressed appreciation to CIBN for modest intervention in the development of banking and finance education in the institution.

“We commend CIBN for providing a fully equipped ultra-modern hall with state-of -the- art facilities in the Institution,” he said.

Represented by DVC, Administration, Prof. Ibrahim Garba, the VC promised to ensure that students and lecturers are registered with the institution to enhance professionalism.

He also promised that the edifice would be used judiciously not only for banking students but for all Nigerians and would be sustained adequately.

On his part, Dr Seye Awojobi, Registrar/Chief Executive of CIBN, explained that the Linkage Partnership with ATBU Bauchi, commenced on June 12, 2014, and has since been a rewarding and fruitful relationship.

“This is what made ATBU Bauchi the beneficiary of the institute’s Legacy Project, which is being commissioned today.
