Ganduje mourns as billionaire hotelier, Fadlallah dies at 74

A Kano-based billionaire hotelier and the owner of the famous Tahir Guest Palace, Tahir Fadlallah is dead. He died in Beirut, Lebanon, Friday morning.

Aged 74, the famous hotelier was flown to Beirut two years ago over COVID-19 complications.

He was admitted to Clemenceau Medical Centre in Beirut where he remained in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital until his death.

He left behind a wife and five children.

Late Fadlallah was born on February 5, 1948, in Beirut, but moved to Kano with his parents when he was two years old.

In May 2020, he was honoured alongside 81 other notable individuals by the Kano State Government for his contributions to the development of the state.

Meanwhile, Kano State Acting Governor Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has on behalf of the state government commiserated with the family and the Lebanese community in the country over the passing of Tahir Fadlallah.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, Hassan Musa Fagge, the governor said the news of the death of Fadlallah came as a shock.
