Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Major-General Ibrahim Shuaibu, yesterday said only those ignorant of the impact of the scheme on the society would call for the scrapping of the scheme.
He said this in Abuja while receiving the president of the Historical Society of Nigeria, Prof. Okpeh Okpeh and his team.

He said those who had commended the NYSC had researched and known that the scheme had made positive achievements in all sectors of Nigeria.
Okpeh said his team visited the NYSC DG to congratulate him on his promotion to the rank of Major-General.
He commended the NSYC DG and the management of the scheme for always innovating ideas and projects that had boosted the scheme.
In a related development, Zonal Director, National Broadcasting Corporation, Pauline Ehusani has commended the NYSC for following due process in transmitting its programmes on its radio and television stations.
She spoke in Abuja yesterday while inspecting the NYSC TV and radio stations.
