Panel’s report on VSF’s activities ready – Gen TY Danjuma

The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Victims Support Fund (PCVSF), General T. Y. Danjuma, said he has received the report of the review panel set up to probe the operations of the organisation since its inception.
The PCVSF was set up in July 2014 at the peak of the Boko Haram insurgency as a non-military response to the terror activities.
A press statement by Alkasim Abdulkadir, on behalf of the Chairman of the VSF, said the panel was tasked for the review in October 2020, adding that the task lasted for a year.
Amongst the tasks of the review panel was the analysis of funds and the impact of operational activities of the organisation between 2014 and 2020.
According to the statement, the forensic audit of the VSF was carried out by renowned financial experts who also used the opportunity to hold consultations with internal and external stakeholders of the VSF, including extensive research and field visits.
“The report which was submitted in three volumes gave the detailed outcome of the review of the VSF and made extensive recommendations to the Chairman VSF,” Abdulkadir added.
He did not disclose the findings and recommendations of the panel but said the forensic auditors had submitted and discussed the outcome of the audit with the Chairman.
Gen Danjuma thanked the panel for the time spent examining and auditing the past operations of the VSF.
On his part, the Chairman of the review panel, Brig-Gen Jones Arogbofa (rtd), commended Gen Danjuma’s prudent leadership which he said had made the VSF standout amongst similar humanitarian organisations in the country.
