The accreditation of the new programmes came after critical inspection and validation on manpower resources and modern facilities available for the training of highly skilled graduates.
In an April 14, 2022, letter of approval sent to KUST and signed by the NUC executive secretary, Professor Abubakar Abdulrasheed, through the director of accreditation, Dr Maryam Sali, the commission said the full credence was valid for the next five years.
Some of the approved academic programmes fully accredited, according to NUC, are agricultural education, education biology, education chemistry, education physics, education geography, health education, human kinetics and library and information science.
KUST had earlier got NUC’s nod for the establishment of 14 new academic programmes and one post-graduate programme.
For YUMSUK, the programmes approved by the NUC are MSc accounting, masters in accounting and finance, post-graduate diploma in accounting and finance, B.Sc taxation, B.Sc industrial chemistry, B.Sc cyber security, B.Sc software engineering and B.Sc industrial mathematics.
