The police in Kano State have arrested two men, Huzaifa Auwalu (23) and Abba Shuaibu (24), for stealing a tricycle in Naibawa area of Kano metropolis.
Parading the suspects, the spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said one of the two, Shuaibu, was arrested by vigilantes in Kofar Dawanau and handed over to the police.

He said the investigation led to the arrest of the other suspect, Auwalu, who confessed that they stole the tricycle in Na’ibawa Kwanar Chairman.
Auwalu said, “We stole the tricycle while it wasn’t even working. We had to repair it and change the paint and KAROTA number so that it won’t be noticed. I kept it with me until my friend was arrested, which also led to my arrest.”
He further confessed saying, “I was arrested one year ago and then sentenced to one year in prison with an option of N30,000 fine. My parents paid the fine and I was released.”
