A 25-year-old man, Nafiu Saidu Nabara, of Sabon-Gari area, and 82-year-old Abubakar Garba of old Dappo village, all in Kontagora LGA of Niger State have been arraigned before a magistrates’ court in Kontagora on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, and cheating.
The prosecutor, Inspector Danladi Marafa, told the court that the accused conspired and deceived one Abdullahi Ibrahim of Samaru area of Kontagora and collected N3,912,500 cash, while N1,137,500 was transferred to a Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) account number bearing Nafiu Saidu Nabara, making a total of N5,050,000.

When the charges were read to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty, but the magistrate, Abubakar Ahmed Nami, ruled that the defendants be remanded in prison and adjourned the case to April 19.
