Wizkid Congratulates Angelique Kidjo On Grammy Win

Music superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, has congratulated Beninese singer and songwriter, Angelique Kpasseloko Kidjo on her Grammy win.

Angelique’s Mother Nature album had won the Best Global Music Album at the 64th Grammy awards beating the likes of Nigeria’s Wizkid, Femi Kuti, and others that were nominated in that same category.

On Tuesday, Wizkid took to his official Instagram page to congratulate both Angelique and South African Disc Jockey, Black Coffee, on their Grammy wins.

He said, “Love to my brother a true King, Black Coffee and Queen Angelique Kidjo for consistently shining light to the continent African music rising.”

In response, she reposted Wizkid’s story with love emojis.

This will be the 5th Grammy win for the singer, Angelique Kidjo. Her first win was in 2008 for the Best Contemporary World Music Album.

In February 2015, she won her second Grammy award for Best Contemporary World Music Album for “Eve”, a tribute to the continent’s women.

Also in February 2016, she won her third Grammy award for Best Contemporary World Music Album for her 2015 album, Sings.

In January 2020, she won the Grammy for the Best World Music Album and lastly, she won her fifth Grammy award for Best Global Music Album for her ‘Mother Nature’ album.
