Massive crowd will be good for Super Eagles against Ghana- Kurfi

The chairman of Katsina State Football Association, Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi, has said having a mammoth crowd at the MKO Abiola stadium would help propel the Super Eagles to victory over the Black Stars.

The two west African countries are billed to meet in the second leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday after the 0-0 draw last Friday in Kumasi.

Kurfi believes the teeming Ghanaian football fans who thronged the Baba Yara Sports stadium was what saved the Black Stars from defeat in the hands of the Super Eagles.

Consequently, the former chairman of Katsina United is calling on Nigerian football fans in Abuja and environs to come out en masse to cheer the Super Eagles to victory against Ghana on Tuesday.

“It is time for Nigerians to come out. Football fans from Kaduna, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kogi, Benue and other parts of the country should come and cheer Super Eagles to victory on Tuesday.

“In Kumasi, the Blacks Stars supporters got behind and cheered them throughout the duration of the match. It is this kind of massive support that I am craving for the Super Eagles,” said Kurfi.

The member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Committee, therefore called for gates into the MKO Abiola stadium to be thrown open for the fans to enter and cheer the Eagles to victory.

He said “Considering the prevailing economic situation, not many people can afford to pay N2,000 to watch the Super Eagles.

“Gates into the MKO Abiola national stadium should be open to all so that our desire to get the stadium field to be brim can be achieved. The mammoth crowd will boost the morale of the players,” said Kurfi.
