Newborn baby found on Abuja refuse dump

A newborn baby has been found on a refuse dump in Kubwa, a satellite town in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A resident of the area, Mustapha Ibrahim, who made the discovery on Tuesday morning, told City & Crime that he went to ease himself at the refuse dump when he saw the baby.

Ibrahim said, “After the discovery, I raised alarm. A polythene bag containing clothes was placed beside the baby.”

Our reporter gathered that immediately Ibrahim raised alarm, residents rushed to the scene.

It was further learnt that the residents took the baby to an orphanage in Kubwa.

Another resident, Kehinde Ogundipe, told our reporter that a similar incident happened three months ago in the area.

Ogundipe said, “A baby boy was dumped in our area in December, last year.”

There was no response from the FCT Police Command at the time of filing this report.
