On Saturday, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, hosted ex-Super Eagles’ players at his Bourdillon, Ikoyi residence in Lagos.
The visit was ahead of a novelty match to be played in commemoration of Tinubu’s 70th birthday.

During the visit, the players gave Tinubu a gift, which had the bold inscription, “Wazobia Choice 2023”, a sign of endorsing the 2023 presidential aspirant.
However, one of the things that stood out during that visit was the prayer by Taribo West, ex-defender, who is now a pastor.
During their heydays for Nigeria, West was the one who usually prayed for the team while on the pitch.
At Tinubu’s residence, West led a session, where he was heard praying for the restoration of Nigeria to its rightful place via Tinubu, one of the presidential aspirants of the APC.
But months before the visit to Tinubu, some of the ex-players met with Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, who like Tinubu, has also been pushing for APC presidential ticket.
