A group of vibrant young band girls who are based in Jos has been accepted into the fold of Plateau United’s supporters club.
The spokesperson of the group, Pamela Pam, said they have decided to contribute their own quota to the success of Plateau United because of the former champions’ outstanding performance in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

“We used to come and watch the team during league matches and we are really impressed with the performance of the players so we have decided to offer our services free of charge to the team.”
An elated chairman of Plateau United Supporters Club, Umar Shehu, expressed happiness with the band girls for volunteering to join forces with their male counterparts to cheer the team.
Umar said the act of supporting teams is not the exclusive reserve of men alone, as women too have a vital role to play in that regard.
He stressed that there are vibrant and enterprising ladies who are active members of the national teams’ supporters club.
The girls who can beat drums and blow trumpets were inducted at the New Jos stadium where they started rehearsals with their male counterparts ahead of Sunday’s home match against Sunshine Stars of Akure.
High point of the event was the introduction of the band girls to the team shortly after Wednesday’s training session.
