Bandits have killed four persons and abducted the village head of Maigemu and three other persons which include two housewives at Kwatan Nanido and Maigemu villages in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The kidnapped victims were abducted on Tuesday, more so, it was gathered that the four people killed were murdered on Tuesday night at Maigemu, Tinga and Kwamishina villages all in Gassol local government area.

It was learnt that the bandits operate from a forest near River Benue and they have been terrorizing villages located on both sides of the River Benue for weeks.
The bandits, it was further gathered operate on motorcycles and have forced fishermen and dry season farmers to abandon the riverside where they conduct their legitimate business activities.
The chief of Mutumbiyu, Justice Sani Muhammed (retd.) called for the deployment of soldiers to his domain to check activities of bandits.
He told Daily Trust in an interview that the local vigilante are doing well for guarding their villages during the night but needed to be supported by soldiers.
Also, the spokesperson of the Taraba police command DSP Usman Abdullahi did not respond to telephone calls or SMS over the incident.
