The Eje Ankpa, Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu II, has said his throne was not in contention in any way, saying he will soon receive his staff of office.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Chieftaincy, Traditional and Cultural Matters, Ahmed Okutachi, Yakubu said his throne is not under any threat.
Reacting to a recent court ruling that restrained him from parading himself as the Eje Ankpa, Yakubu, who is the Chairman of the Ankpa Traditional Council in Kogi State, described it as handiwork of mischievous elements in the chiefdom.
A High Court in Ayingba, Kogi State, recently restrained the Kogi State government from coronating Yakubu as the Eje of Ankpa.
Daily Trust on Sunday learnt Yakubu was not included among the first-class monarchs who were given staff of office by Governor Yahaya Bello on March 5.
But Yakubu charged the people to “remain calm and prepare for the auspicious coronation ceremony of the Ejeh of Ankpa.”
